dealer offering me a new car

the moment i got my ridgeline the first thing i did was takeit to the dealer for a checkup and maintenance the usual stuff. about a month after that the dealer started asking me if id be interested to trade it for a new one which is weird to me. sure its in a prety good condition but why would the dealer want my ridgeline which is almost new when they can sell a new car wouldn't that make more sense to them or im missing something?

@trueno86 dealers usually do this kind of thing because they're after your almost-new car to resell as "certified pre-owned" since those have pretty high demand and can fetch good money while getting you to trade up for a brand-new model also means more profit for them but honestly it's a weird flex on their part considering you just got the Ridgeline and haven't even had time to bond with it yet.

Just curious, do they just trade the car for free? if it's free, then just take it! haha

will there be any difference to the new one? i mean it's just a month when you got your ridgeline. 😂 do let us know how this goes.. i agree with the comment above, if it's for free then take it!
 
I doubt it's a free replacement which is why the dealer offers this, I think. I'm guessing there's not a lot of interest in brand new cars so they sit at dealerships picking up dust. So here's my thinking. The dealer asks for your practically new ridgeline because enough people asked for it and if you get on board they'll offer you a trade where you'll need to pay for the difference, a couple of thousand bucks. That's money in their pocket. Next they sell your ridgeline to whoever requested one and we know dealerships and used cars, it will be sold more than it's real value. They managed to get rid of the new one, have two satisfied customers and more money than if they would sell the new ridgeline.

super agree with @pillowfighter1. if you're thinking of biting on it best prepare your lemon lawyer.
